Gettin up at the crack of dawn Too woke for my own good And I still don’t know what to do I feel myself falling into the abyss Let me take some weigh off first, a gigaton To die inside, I’m almost done I’m gonna have to fake this with everyone Cause I’m shy inside, it’s always dumb You didn’t faze me You couldn’t shake me from the way things have always been twisted Who’s this escaping? I couldn't blame you for the way things have always been As probable as bodies falling (Like when the see saw slapped you in the face) A picture posed to watchers wandering (Foregone flight path) As probable as bodies falling (Like when the see saw slapped you in the face) The perfect prose to what you’re hiding (Forecast frightening) Moderation fits in like the enemy Jealousy aside it’s painful to watch you step out Easy enough to mark this for deletion Well I saw the signs ad nauseam You didn’t faze me You couldn’t shake me from the way things have always been twisted Who’s this escaping? I couldn't blame you for the way things have always been As probable as bodies falling (Like when the see saw slapped you in the face) A picture posed to watchers wandering (Foregone flight path) As probable as bodies falling (Like when the see saw slapped you in the face) The perfect prose to what you’re hiding (Forecast frightening) You didn't faze me But I think you've mistaken me

Disgrace It’s common place It’s time this came undone Debase And lay some waste This boy’s without his gun Get sucked into the waste It’s such an easy affair We’ve got a house full of tinder and a sudden desire to burn Demands were made (Uplift/Persuade) That game was never won The calm you miss (Entitlement) That shit is over, son Get sucked into the waste It’s such an easy affair Hope you’re well rested ‘cause there’s a new language to learn It’s been too long since this felt like home It’s been too long since we brought down Rome Get sucked into the waist It’s such an easy affair We’ve got a house full of tinder and a whole fucking culture to burn

They’re coming back with a vengeance We’ve seen them well An endless line 'round the turnstile And every soul to sell To the base, they said you’re saving face Never look past the moment Concede to fate It’s safe to say you could, you won’t Enough with the compromise These are two sides that completely differ By fundamental ideologies It’s safe to say you’re all you want You could bear witness and meet yourself See the errant hindsight for what its worth And when our social contract’s been erased Cut the ties to the front line Concede to fate It’s safe you say you could, you won’t Enough of your running away You defend the structure of the system That it might be totally pre-defined It’s safe to say you’re all you want Yes. You can have it your way. I’ve got enough to deal without the pressure Of seeing who was right this time. The truth it is settling in And it sums every single reason We’ll be seeing who is right this time. When your haircut suddenly becomes a constitutional issue “Literally” bound in chains! Meanwhile you’re begging to bring on the police state The truth of the matter is your attitudinal tendencies ensure you’ll never get it But, you can give it These imperatives! These impairments! Why these consequences? And childhood demands? These imperatives to help those in need! Oh God please, take them from me! Raging With absence of meaning Pretense The reason you come in here Loaded The way that you show us, “I don’t care about anyone but myself!” In absence of leaders Con men They lead you to come out here “Stolen!” Say it until it’s true We tried to slow this shit down

about

In March of 2020, the members of >odds vs.< reunited virtually to reminisce over unfinished business – three songs that had been in their infancy before the split – and determined to make one final statement. Collaborating remotely, they would revive these songs to create Pivot & Disrupt.

While demonstrating a refinement of the style they honed 16 years prior, these recordings demonstrate the band's growth as musicians and technicians. Recorded in isolation in disparate locations across Minnesota and Texas, these performances were compiled by vocalist/guitarist/engineer John Bongaarts and reimagined with an expanded sonic palette and more ambitious creative expressions, all while capturing the youthful intensity with which these songs were conceived.
